When you decide you don’t like your Realtor, it may be time to fire them. This isn’t an easy thing, especially if you don’t handle conflict very well.
Maybe your agent has stopped returning calls or simply isn’t putting in the time to get your home sold or find the right home for you to buy. If this is the case, it might be time to fire your Realtor.
There are several reasons you may need to fire a Realtor. If you simply don’t like them, but they are doing a good job helping you find or sell a home, you may not have a good reason to fire your Realtor. Here are some of the signs you may need to end the relationship.
Your Realtor Doesn’t Return Emails, Calls or Texts
When you hire a realtor to help you find a home, it’s reasonable to receive new listing and updates regularly. When you are selling a home, you can expect feedback from showing and open houses. However, when a realtor stops returning your calls, emails and texts regularly, it may be time to let them go. This is certainly a reason for concern.
Your Realtor isn’t Available When You Need Them to be
You have a specific schedule and so does your Realtor. However, you need to be able to meet with your realtor. When a Realtor isn’t available at the same time you are, it may be time to let them go.
Promises are not Kept by your Realtor
Signing on to sell your home with a Realtor means you should be able to view their marketing plan for your home. However, when they stop keeping the promises they outlined in the contract and the marketing plan, it’s time to confront them. A Realtor not willing to stick to their promises isn’t the type of person you should have selling your home or helping you find your next home.
Your Realtor becomes Pushy with a Specific Home
As you are searching for a new home, your Realtor should be willing to show you as many homes as it takes. If your Realtor becomes pushy with a specific home, they may just be looking to collect a commission check and move on. If this is the case, you may need to consider ending the relationship and finding a Realtor willing to help you find the right home for you.
You find out Your Realtor Works Part Time
A part time Realtor may not work for you. This type of Realtor may spend the bulk of their time working on another career, while selling homes part time to make ends meet. If you need a full time agent, make sure you ask up front. However, if you find out your Realtor only works part time; it may be time to find a new Realtor. Sometimes, you hire a Realtor without asking all the right questions. This can be dangerous and can easily lead to the need to fire your Realtor.
