There’s a new magazine on the First Coast. The first issue of First Coast Magazine appeared Intown Nov. 8. Brought to you by the publishers of HealthSource, Florida Doctor and Mature Matters magazines, Beson4 Media Group has entered the arena for lifestyle magazines.
Looking to entice readers of all ages, the magazine wants to encompass all that the entire First Coast, from Fernandina to St. Augustine, has to offer. “Our goal is that everybody can dive in to it and find something or someone or place they’ve been that they can enjoy and see in a different light,” said AJ Beson, publisher and CEO of Beson4 in an interview with News4Jax. “We want to surprise readers.”
First Coast Magazine lists their mission on Facebook as being “…here for the love of the First Coast and its people. Our anchors showcase the vibrant life of the First Coast; we reveal the passion behind the people and place. Our goal is to form long-term relationships with our readers and the local businesses who serve them.” To honor their mission, the magazine highlights five sections:
- Lifestyle, featuring things to do on the First Coast;
- Front Door, home section;
- Fresh Local Flavor, highlighting area food;
- First Impression, beauty and fashion; and
- Heart and Soul, health and hobbies for First Coast residents.
Vanessa Wells, editor and community manager of Beson4 describes First Coast Magazine as having a different voice. “The focus is on the love of the First Coast and its people with deeper stories and secrets you don’t get the opportunity to read about,” said Wells. “[The First Coast is] more than a place, it’s a way of life.”
